Study Update
Have you left the military? Your participation is still vital!
Your unique experiences, including those after you leave the military, are necessary to
evaluate long-term health effects of military service.
Approximately 25% of the Cohort have left military service. The study will continue to survey these participants every 3 years to further enable research into the long term effects of military service and deployments.
The study team wants to emphasize the importance of continued participation! The Millennium Cohort is the largest prospective health study in military history, and one of the largest cohort studies in world history. Participants should feel confident that they are contributing to an effort of profound public health importance!
Millennium Cohort Team Research Progress
The Millennium Cohort Study is evaluating chronic diagnosed health outcomes and long-term subjective health, among military members, especially in relationship to exposures of military concern. We are very excited to be able to link three points in time from the 2001, 2004, and 2007 surveys to begin to longitudinally assess effects of military exposures. The Millennium Cohort Study is a Department of Defense research project at the DoD Center for Deployment Health Research, located in San Diego, California.
